Bayith Yahweh · Covenant Study
A deep covenant study on the Passover — its origins in Shemot, its instructions, its prophetic significance, and its observance according to the Torah of Yahweh.
The Passover — Pesach in Hebrew — is the foundational appointed time of Yahweh. It is the first of the seven annual moedim (appointed times) given in Vayikra 23. It commemorates the night Yahweh passed over the houses of Yisra'el in Egypt and struck down the firstborn of the Egyptians — the night that began the Exodus and gave birth to the covenant nation.
The Passover is not merely a historical commemoration. It is a living covenant ordinance — commanded for all generations, for every person who enters into covenant with Yahweh. It is the covenant meal that connects every generation of Yahweh's people to the original act of redemption in Egypt.
The instructions for Passover are detailed and specific, given directly by Yahweh to Mosheh in Shemot 12. They include:
One of the most powerful aspects of the Passover instruction is its universal application. Yahweh explicitly included the stranger — the non-Israelite who had joined himself to the covenant — in the Passover observance. This was not a Jewish-only feast. It was a covenant feast for all who had committed themselves to walking under the authority of Yahweh.
The Passover is intimately connected to the covenant promise of return and inheritance. Just as Yahweh redeemed Yisra'el from bondage in Egypt, He has promised to redeem His scattered people from bondage in every nation where they have been driven. The Passover is the annual covenant rehearsal of that redemption — a declaration that the bondage is not permanent and that Yahweh keeps His covenant promises.
The Passover teaching from the 2010–2016 Bayith Yahweh site was grounded in the Torah instructions of Shemot 12 and Vayikra 23 — which is fully consistent with the current Miqdash Bethel covenant position. The Passover is observed according to the plain text of the Torah, not according to Rabbinic tradition, church interpretation, or any other commentary overlay.
The current position of Miqdash Bethel on the Passover: it is an eternal covenant ordinance for all who have entered into the covenant of Yahweh — Yisra'el-born and stranger alike. It is observed on the 14th day of the first month of the Hebrew calendar (Aviv/Nisan), at twilight, according to the instructions of Shemot 12. No addition, no substitution, no replacement.
